Epidemiologic Study on Risk Factors of Cancer in South India-Stomach and Lung Cancer-

为了阐明印度南部马德拉斯地区素食者胃癌和肺癌的发生关系，1994年进行并启动了两项病例对照研究。在胃癌和肺癌的病例对照研究中，都采用了200例新诊断病例作为病例系列。在每个病例中，随机选择马德拉斯市区健康居民中年龄性别匹配的健康对照者，以及在同一研究所诊断的其他胃癌和肺癌患者的医院对照者作为对照系列病例。在这两个病例对照研究中，包括五个关于日常生活因素的假设，包括饮食因素和吸烟习惯、心理因素、血清中某些维生素水平、感染因素如幽门螺杆菌感染和遗传因素。结果将在1996年年底前得出。

To clarify the occurrence relation of stomach cancer and lung cancer of vegetarian of Madras in southern India, in 1994 two case-control studies were conducted and started. In both case-control studies of stomach cancer and of lung cancer two hundreds of newly diagnosed cases were used as cases series. For each cases age-sex matched healthy controls from healthy inhabitants of Madras urban area were randomly selected and hospital controls from the patients with other disease of stmach and lung cancer diagnosed at same institute as cases for control seriesIn both case-control studies are including five hypothesis of factors concerning daily life including dietary factors and smoking habits, psychological factors, serum levels of some kinds of vitamins, infectious factors such as Helicobacter pylori infection, and genetic factors.Results will be got by the end of 1996.
