Osteoporosis-evaluation with MR imaging-

骨质疏松症以骨基质脱矿为特征，T2^* 会因易感性降低而延长。本研究的目的是用磁共振成像评价骨质疏松症。腰椎MRI采用梯度回波序列。TR为500 msec，TE为4.5、9.3、14.1（同相）、6.9、11.7和16.5 msec（异相）。A组为13例应用激素治疗胶原病的患者，B组为11例未应用激素的患者。T2^* 由信号强度的下降- TE线计算。激素治疗组和非激素治疗组的平均T2^* 值分别为0.014和0.013，两组间无显著差异。这些方法无法评价骨基质。

Osteoporosis is characterized by demineralization of bone matrix, and T2^* will be prolonged due to diminution of susceptibility. The purpose of this study is to evaluate osteoporosis with MR imagint. MR images of the lumbar spine were obtained with gradient echo sequence. TR was 500 msec, and TEs were 4.5,9.3,14.1 (in phase), 6.9,11.7, and 16.5 msec (out of phase). Group A was consisted with 13 patients administered steroids for collagen disease, and group B was composed with 11 patients without steroids. T2^* was calculated from the decline of signal intensity - TE line. Mean T2^* values of patients with and without steroid therapy were 0.014 and 0.013, respectively, and there was no significant difference between these two groups. Bone matrix could not be evaluated with these methods.
