A Study on Identity Development in Adult Women From the View Points of Lifestyle and Care-Role

本研究的目的是从自我独立和关心他人的角度分析成年女性的身份发展过程。本研究采用半结构式访谈法，对20名40 ~ 50岁的女性进行访谈。青少年同一性的形成存在两种类型：第一类型：独立取向，第二类型：关系取向.自我独立导向型被区分为（1）职业认同成就者，（2）职业认同成就失败者，（3）职业暂停者。关系导向型通过对家庭的认同发展了与重要他人的更深的关系.在这两种类型中，身份顺向都经历了两个层面，即重新质疑（1）核心身份和（2）中年总生活。

The purpose of this study was to analyze the process of identity development in adult women from the view points of self-independence and caring for others. Semi-structured interview was carried out to 20 women aged 40's and 50's.Main results were as follows :1. Two types (Type I : Self-Independence Oriented, and Type II : Relatedness Oriented) were found on adolescence identity formation.2. The Self-Independence Oriented Type were differentiated into (1) The Vocational Identity Achiever, (2) The Failer of Vocational Identity Achievement, and (3) The Vocational Moratorium. The Relatedness Oriented Type developed deeper relatedness to the significant others by commiment to family.3. In both two types above, identity cisis was experienced in the following two levels, that is, re-questioning (1) their core-identities, and (2) their total lives in middle age.
