The development of genetic tests regarding cariogenicity of mutans streptococci

变形链球菌的一个重要毒力因子是由蔗糖合成水不溶性葡聚糖(WIG)的葡糖基转移酶。对72株来自小学生的变形链球菌的GTFB基因进行了测序，发现GTFB基因编码的GtfB具有两个功能结构域。GTFB的羧基末端部分被称为葡聚糖结合结构域，由直接重复单元编码。研究结果表明，GTFB中重复序列的数量与变形链球菌的假发合成有关

An important virulence factor of S. mutans is a glucosyltransferase synthesizing water-insoluble glucan (WIG) from sucrose. We performed sequencing of the gtfB gene of 72 S. mutans isolates derived from primary school students.GtfB coded by gtfB gene possess two functional domain. The carboxyl-terminal portion of GtfB is called the glucan binding domain and is coded by the direct repeating units. The results of this study indicated that the number of the repeating sequences in gtfB is associated with WIG synthesis by S.mutans
