Formation of High School Students' Social Attitudes and Social Skills In the Transition Era

本研究旨在探讨日本社会转型时期高中生及其父母的社会态度和社会技能的特征和生成过程，并由此考察这些特征和过程与社会分层的再生产机制之间的关系。本研究以日本宫城县三所学校的2009级高中生及其家长为样本，对高中生对学校生活和社会的态度进行了调查。到目前为止，对数据的分析表明，关于社会分层持续或扩大再生产或不平等程度日益加深的假设几乎没有得到支持。

The purpose of this study was to detect the characteristics and the generative processes of high school students' and their parents' social attitudes and social skills in our transition era of Japan, and thereby examine how these characteristics and processes are related to the mechanism of reproduction of social stratification. The Survey on High School Students' Attitudes towards School Life and the Society, which was consisted of four waves, was conducted with the sample of the students enrolled in 2009 and their parents in three schools of Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Analyses of the data so far suggest that there is little support to the hypothesis of persistent or amplified reproduction of social stratification or that of increasing degrees of inequality.
