Pricing model in a declining industry and its applications

本研究的目的是探讨衰退产业中企业的定价行为。为此，我和合作者开发了几个模型，不仅包括价格竞争模型，还包括数量竞争模型。有替代模型将有利于分析应用问题，这是我最初计划研究的。除了上述理论贡献外，两篇论文还提供了实证分析来支持所开发的模型。这笔资金允许我购买数码相机问世后需求量下降的摄影胶片的POS数据。我编制微观数据是为了使我们能够进行更多的结构性实证研究。

The purpose of this study is to investigate firms' pricing behavior in a declining industry. To this end, Co-authors and I develop several models including not only price competition models but also quantity competition models. Having alternative models would be beneficial to analyze applied issues, which I initially plan to study. In addition to the above theoretical contributions, two papers provide empirical analyses that support the developed model. The grant allows me to purchase POS data of photographic film whose demand has declined after the introduction of digital cameras. I compile the micro data in order to enable us to conduct more structural empirical study.
