Wood species used for wooden cultural properties in China

该研究项目的主要目的是确定用于考古木材，传统木结构建筑和佛教雕塑的木材种类。在考古木材方面，对浙江玉黄遗址出土的94根石柱进行了显微鉴定。结果表明，菲比属（Phoebe sp.）、毛绵属（Choerospondias axillaris）和樟树属（Cinnamomum camphora）是主要柱体物质。在传统木结构建筑方面，对青海藏传寺院色康寺建筑群中128件用于柱、椽、方承块和横梁的建筑材料进行了微观鉴定。其中云杉（Picea sp.） 118例，松(Pinus sp. (diploxylon) 10例。在佛教雕塑方面，对大都会艺术博物馆收藏的33件佛教雕塑进行了显微鉴定。佛教雕塑主要使用泡桐、柳、椴三种。

The research project was mainly aimed to identify the wood species used for archaeological wood, traditional wooden building and Buddhist sculptures. As for archaeological wood, 94 pillars excavated from Yuhuang site in Zhejiang province were identified microscopically. It was found that Phoebe sp., Choerospondias axillaris and Cinnamomum camphora were the principal pillar materials. As for traditional wooden buildings, 128 pieces of building materials used for pillars, rafters, square bearing block and cross beams in Serkhang temple complex, Tibetan monastery in Qinghai were identified microscopically. Two species, Picea sp. (118 cases) and Pinus sp. (diploxylon)(10 cases) were used for those buildings. As for Buddhist sculptures, 33 Buddhist sculptures collected in Metropolitan Museum of Art were identified microscopically. Three species, Paulownia sp., Salix sp., and Tilia sp. were mainly used for the Buddhist sculptures.
