INTERACTIVE PEACEMAKER SERIES

This project will develop interactive peace education materials based on "The Peacemaker Series" created by Fran Schmidt. The "Interactive Peacemaker Series" will consist of hybrid CD-ROM/website products that feature animated stories and exercises. Using technology developed in- house, programing of the product will enable children in interact with characters in the animated story from several "points of view." Exercise will reinforce the message and behaviors modeled in the animated story: peacemaking. Phase I will be used to develop a prototype of the product (1 CD- ROM/website) and evaluate its efficacy as a peace education resource. Successful completion of Phase I will lead to a Phase II application to complete additional CD-ROMs and generate new animated stories and exercises, and assess behavioral change PROPOSED COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS:. The Interactive Peacemaker Series will be available for classroom use, and for home school, and private use as a peace education/violence prevention resource.
