Establishment of Manufacturing Business Process Re-Engineering Strategies for the development of Sustainable Environmental Lean/Agile Manufacturing

Having worked for over 30 years in the Furniture Manufacturing Industry in the UK and overseas it has become apparent to me that there is considerable scope for step changes in Sustainable Environmental Furniture Manufacturing Process and Product Design Practices in this sector.Manufacturing control, technologies and methods are as important as the use of environmentally sustainable materials in production. These key areas are very significant in their contribution to the manufacturing of environmentally sustainable furniture & joinery products.The key interests for research lie in the ability to construct a strategic framework to empower 'Small to Medium Sized Enterprises' (SME's) to assess their current positions and develop strategies to improve their products and manufacturing performance.
