SOCIAL COGNITION IN WILLIAMS SYNDROME

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The goal of the proposed research is to systematically investigate social information processing capacities in Williams Syndrome (WMS). We plan to investigate foundational capacities in adolescents and adults with WMS to process information in two main channels for social communication:faces and vocal prosdoy. A series of experiments will be conducted with groups of adolescents and adults with WMS, and to age and gender matched non-retarded controls.
