This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This research study will see if treatment with thalidomide reduces chronic pelvic pain in women with endometriosisi who have not been successful with standard treatment. The study will also be looking to see if thalidomide treatment lowers the levels of TNF-alpha and IL-6 in the blood. The levels of these chemicals in women with endometriosis are often higher than average and my contribute to chronic pelvic pain. Finally, the study will see if the participants' overall quality of life and functionality is improved while being treated with thalidomide.
