The study of symmetry is important aspect of all sciences including mathematics. The symmetries of the sphere are of particular interest. For example the spherical space form problem asks for a classification of all possible free actions of a finite group on a sphere. The goal of this research is to understand all symmetry groups of a sphere not just the free symmetry groups. We would also like to extend these ideas to spaces other than spheres.
