Radio resource management in the next generation wireless networks

认知无线电作为下一代无线网络的一项关键技术，是为了解决未来可能出现的无线电频谱短缺问题，在有许可用户空闲时，无许可用户可以暂时使用有许可的频谱（支付一定费用）。本研究旨在探索和发展认知无线电网络中实用的无线电资源管理机制。特别是要研究定价机制，以便既鼓励有执照的使用者，也鼓励没有执照的使用者；为无牌用户开发高效的信道接入策略，最大限度地提高频谱效率，满足业务质量要求。将使用博弈论和优化理论。所提出的研究将填补理论框架与实际网络实施之间的空白。研究结果将为业界提供开发和部署认知无线电网络的指导方针。

As a key technology in next generation wireless networks, cognitive radio is to tackle the potential radio spectrum scarcity problem in the near future, where unlicensed users can temporarily utilize the licensed spectrum (with some payment) when the licensed users are idle. The proposed research is to investigate and develop practical radio resource management mechanisms in cognitive radio networks. In particular, pricing mechanisms are to be studied, so as to motivate both licensed users and unlicensed users; and efficient channel access strategies for unlicensed users are to be developed, to maximize the spectrum efficiency and meet the quality-of-service requirements. Game theory and optimization theory will be used. The proposed research will fill the gap between theoretical framework and practical network implementation. The research results will provide industry with guidelines for development and deployment of cognitive radio networks.
