The International Linear Collider (ILC) project is expected to be the next world-wide particle physics facility. Its accelerators should collide electrons on positrons at energies from 500 GeV up to 1 TeV. While the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN is discovering the Higgs and helps understand the origin of mass, the ILC will be essential in extending these discoveries and make precision measurements on the particles, their properties and modes of interactions. The facilities are highly complementary to each other and are both needed to probe and push the most fundamental theories of our physical world.
