英文摘要
One of long standing problems in mathematics, ever since the ancient time, is the searching of integral/rational solutions of an algebraic equation. In modern time, it was found out that the integral/rational solutions of such equation are very much related to the geometry associated to the equation. As a major achievement of this idea, Andrew Wiles proved Fermat's Last Theorem by studying elliptic curves, the geometric objects associated to cubic equations. This proposal studies a close "relative" of elliptic curves, called K3 surfaces, and their geometric and arithmetic properties.
