ManagingLife, a company that provides software solutions to assist individuals with chronic pain, has developed a web-based application, called Manage My Pain, that chronic pain patients can use to track their pain over time. Data analysis, that would help patients understand their symptoms and communicate about their pain has not been integrated into the application. We will develop and integrate and analytical framework into the Manage My Pain database. The analytical framework will identify patients within pain subgroups (determined by statistical methods and medical expert knowledge) and determine where downward trends in pain experience could be identified. Textual, qualitative and quantitative data will be considered in the data analysis. ManagingLife will use the analytical framework to aid patients in understanding their pain experience over time.
