The program will focus on environmental dynamics and effects of novel chemicals in the environment to provide technical information on socially relevant issues required to make informed decisions that will allow sustainable economic and social empowerment while protecting the health of humans and wildlife. Novel techniques will be developed and applied to both predict and monitor for effects of chemicals in the environment. A unique synthesis of theoretical and empirical information and application of state of the art molecular and mass spectrometry will be used to identify, quantify, and assess the risks of natural and synthetic chemicals in the environment.
