Camber Resources Services(Camber)与Sterling Chemical(Sterling)和Camber**Technology Corporation(CTC)一起,共同为石油和天然气行业提供专业化学和技术服务。
This project is aimed to develop a corrosion inhibitor that can be utilized in downhole environment to replace**the current product. The new corrosion inhibitor will overcome the challenge from both high pressure and high**oil cut. The total annual cost of corrosion was estimated to be over $ 1 trillion for the U.S. in 2015. Oil and gas**production and transportation operations utilized a tremendous amount of steel in the form of pipes, tubing,**casing, and other parts which are susceptible to corrosion. One of the major methods of protecting the metal**from corrosion is to apply corrosion inhibitors to decrease destructive reaction of the metal with corrosive**environment. Camber Resource Services (Camber), together with Sterling Chemicals (Sterling) and Camber**Technology Corporation (CTC) are, collectively, specialty chemical and technical service providers to the oil**and gas industry. Sterling is a direct seller of specialty chemical solutions and CTC supports Sterling by**providing product development, engineering and analytical services. Camber's corrosion inhibitor products**have been evaluated and showed excellent corrosion inhibition in atmospheric pressure and pure brine**condition. However, the performance of Camber's current corrosion inhibitors decreased under high pressure**and high oil cut conditions based on the observation from field. This proposed work will be jointly investigated**by University of Alberta (UA) and Camber Technology Corporation), Edmonton, to evaluate and develop a**corrosion inhibitor product that can be used under downhole condition applied in Western Canada. One co-op**student will be recruited to perform the work for a period of 6 month. It is anticipated that the outputs of this**collaborative project will greatly enhance the competitiveness of Camber's products in market place, potentially**generating more employment opportunities and therefore, creating long lasting benefit to Canadian economy in**general.
