International Journal of Epidemiology, 2022, e200–e205 https://doi. org/10.1093/ije/dyac006 Advance Access Publication Date: 1 February 2022 Cohort Profile these records, 18466 (96.0%) and 18129 (94.2%), respectively, contained sufficient information for National Health Service (NHS) Central Registry tracing (Figure 1). For those who were ‘untraced or not submitted for tracing’(5.6%; Table 1), only information on Porton Down attendance and branch (eg Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force) was available. Logistic regression models, mutually adjusted for Porton Down attendance and branch of service, showed that Non-Porton Down veterans were less likely to be traced (due to insufficient information) compared with Porton Down veterans [odds ratio (OR) 0.55; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.50–0.60], as were Army veterans (OR= 0.31; 95% CI, 0.27–0.36) and Royal Navy veterans (OR= 0.66; 95% CI, 0.54–0.81), compared with Royal Air Force veterans.
