Formation and Change of Public Beliefs about Global Warming How the issue of global warming will be dealt with depends critically on public perceptions regarding the seriousness of the problem and its likely consequences. This study examines the processes through which American citizens form their opinions on global warming, what determines the strength of those opinions, and how those opinions change in response to media coverage and personal experience.
