The Third DMJ/IMRN Conference

第三届杜克数学期刊会议将于2004年4月23日星期五至25日星期日在杜克大学举行。这次会议的目的是让年轻的数学家们齐聚一堂，共度一个高质量的数学周末。八位杰出的青年数学家将会就不同的课题发表演讲，这些专题经常刊登在报章上。在会议举行前，讲者会透过会议网页派发与他们的演讲有关的介绍性资料。所有讲座都将被录制下来，并与演讲者的笔记一起放在网上。这将使与会者和更广泛的数学界受益。该会议还将通过提供高质量的数学体验，使美国东南部的数学界受益。

The 3rd Duke Mathematical Journal Conference will be held at DukeUniversity Friday, April 23 through Sunday, April 25, 2004. The goal ofthe conference is to bring young mathematicians together for a weekend ofhigh quality mathematics. There will be talks by eight leading youngmathematicians on diverse subject areas which are regularly represented inthe journal.Prior to the Conference, speakers will distribute introductory materialrelated to their talks via the conference web site. All talks will bevideotaped and made available on the Web, along with the speakers' notes.This will benefit the participants as well as the broader mathematicalcommunity. The conference will also benefit the mathematical community inthe south-eastern US by providing a high-quality mathematical experience.
