US-Tunisia Planning Visit: Research Collaboration between University of Houston and Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie

0631406 SharmaThis planning-visit award allows Dr. Pradeep Sharma, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Houston, Houston, Texas to work with Dr. Sami El-Borgia and Dr. Slim Choura, Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie, La Marsa, Tunisia, to plan a joint research project on development of computational tools for dynamic problems with applications in nano-sensors. Intellectual Merit: The US and Tunisian collaborators have strong background in the area of computational mechanics. They will seek to develop US-Tunisia collaboration in an important area in mechanics of materials, and to help exchange of students under their collaboration. Broad Impact: The US PI is a recent doctorate degree holder who will benefit considerably from the international development to be made. He is expected to impart this experience to his students and to others in the community around his university.
