GrayInstitution: Stanford University Title: Travel Support for a Workshop on Mentoring for AcademiaStanford University will be holding a 5-day mentoring workshop at the Banff International Research Station (BIRS) in Alberta, Canada. The workshop will bring together students and faculty in computer science and electrical engineering, and representatives of academic administration to collect, discuss, develop and document ideas on how individuals and groups within academic environments can effectively promote awareness and progress in their institutions in general and how their students and colleagues in particular can play an important role in improving the environment for existing faculty, increasing the number of successful role models from diverse backgrounds, and encouraging more students to consider and move into computer science and electrical engineering academic careers. Special Projects has provided partial funding to support students and junior faculty from U.S. institutions to attend the workshop.
