Biological Basis of Internet Addiction and Online-Videogame-Addiction

网瘾指的是过度使用和思考互联网(如多人在线游戏或社交网络)。关于网瘾的性质，目前仍存在争议。寻求帮助的人的数量不断增加，以及将网瘾纳入DSM-V附录，都反映了这一主题的重要性。为了更详细地刻画网瘾的性质，除了使用问卷数据的经典研究策略外，分子遗传学和大脑成像也是当前抓住网瘾本质的项目的重点。此外，还将进行一项双胞胎研究，以估计网瘾的遗传度。

Internet addiction describes the excessive use and thinking about the internet (e.g. multiplayer online gaming or social networks). There is still a controversial debate on the nature of internet addiction. Both the rising number of humans seeking for help and the inclusion of internet addiction in the appendix of the DSM-V reflects the importance of this topic. In order to characterize the nature of internet addiction more in detail, besides a classical research strategy using questionnaire data, also molecuar genetics and imaging of the brain are in the focus of the current project to grap the essence of internet addiction. Moreover, a twin study will be conducted to estimate the heritability of internet addiction.
