On the basic of former results of the team the project deals novel stoichiometric and catalytic reactions of nitriles. The very recently described formation of mononuclear 1-metalla-2,5-diazacyclopenta-2,4-dienes via selective nitrile-nitrile C-C coupling by reactions of nitriles with Group 4 metallocenes will be investigated in detail as well as the synthetic potential of the formed new type of compounds. This is to prevent other well known mostly dinuclear products of diverse nitrile-nitrile coupling reactions which are not ta he goal of this project.
