This coordinator project will support the coordinator and steering committee to provide scientific directions, organizational tasks and management of the priority programme (PP) 1704. Its main aim is to study the interplay between trait diversity and ecological dynamics in multi-trophic microbial planktonic or biofilm communities by combining experiments, field observations and mathematical models. The coordinator project supports interdisciplinary cooperation, scientific synergies and formation of networks within the PP 1704 and its international involvement and prominence as well as setting up and maintaining an informative home page including a literature data base and an intranet for intensive information exchange within the PP 1704. It is responsible for the organization of the annual meetings, international conferences and the workshops and summer schools of the PP 1704, and the promotion of early career researchers and gender equality. It supports the international guest scientists of the PP 1704 and is responsible for the administration of financial affairs such as the travel and publication costs of the PP 1704.
