本研究は、外国にルーツをもつ子どもを対象とした地域の学習支援教室と学校の連携による進路保障のリアリティを明らかにする研究である。これまで①地域学習支援教室と中学・高校の連携構築過程、②進路支援における地域学習支援の役割、③外国ルーツをもつ若者からみた地域学習支援の役割という3つの課題を検討してきた。最終年度である令和4年度は、次の2つの研究課題において進展があった。第1に、外国にルーツをもつ若者の地域の学習支援教室の役割に対する意味づけについて、学習支援教室での参与観察と移行期の若者に対する聞き取り調査をもとに検討した。その結果、人生の初期段階に学校や家庭で承認の毀損や不在を経験していた子どもが、支援者との相互主観的な関係性の中で自己物語を紡ぐことの重要性が明らかになった。第2に、地域の学習支援教室が学校以外の人・組織とどのようなネットワークを構築しているのかを検討した。もともとの検討課題には含まれていなかったが、昨年度の調査を通して自治体の外国人教育施策や行政との関係が連携のありように影響することが分かったため、新たに課題として設定した。その結果、当該地域で連携が推進される背景と官／民の枠を越えた複層的なネットワークの形成過程が明らかになった。結果の一部をまとめた論文が『部落解放研究』に掲載された。また、日本の位置づけを検討するためにイギリスの学校等の視察を行った。当研究課題の総仕上げとしてデータの再分析および論文の執筆作業を行い、博士論文としてまとめた。
