2022年度は前年度の調査を継続し、デザインと工芸に関する美術雑誌の文献調査を行ったほか、主に下記の2つの個別研究を進めた。①杉浦非水の旧蔵資料に関する調査およびデータベース化2021年度から進めてきた東京国立近代美術館所蔵の杉浦非水旧蔵資料のデジタル化について、非水によるスクラップブックおよび手製封筒入りのスクラップのデジタル化を完了した。現在、その内容についてのデータベース化に着手しており、これによって将来的な非水研究に役立つ基盤形成を進めていきたい。②1920年代から1930年代の都市生活に関する資料調査『三越』や『廣告と陳列』などの雑誌を中心とした文献調査を進めた結果、現代ではありふれた電飾が新時代の広告として関心を集めている事例が多くみられた。これは百貨店という一小売店の販売戦略にとどまらず、大衆の夜間の生活や都市計画とも関連してこの時代に新たな変化をもたらしたとみなすことができる。人工的な電気による「光」の使用が可能になったことと、照明による表現の多様化が具体的な作品表現としてどのように表れているかという点が新たな研究対象として浮かび上がってきた。
