项目摘要

2022年度は16世紀から18世紀イギリス文学の道徳的主題と国民形成の関連について思想的観点において分析した。具体的には、研究代表者はジョン・ミルトンの政治的散文と共和主義思想との関連を分析した。ミルトンの暴君廃止論についてThe Tenure of Kings and Magistrates　(1649) における主張が17世紀内戦時特有のものか、もしくは古典時代から形成された思想かについて歴史的思想的資料の分析により考証した。その結果、暴君廃止は国民の自由を維持するために必要という思想がヨーロッパ社会に伝統的に浸透しており、それが1640年代以降のイギリス社会の知識層において鋭く認識されたことが証明された。トマス・ホッブズの思想における国民の自由平等に利するコモンウェルス論調にも同様に示される。ホッブズとミルトンの思想的共通点として国民の基本的権利に対する近代的認識があったことは重要だ。次年度は研究最終年度であり、研究結果をまとめる。また研究分担者及び研究協力者との検証において、以下の点を分析した。①16世紀後半シェイクスピア史劇を中心にイギリス国民意識の特質形成について検証した。特にテューダー朝における国民意識醸成を分析した。加えてステュアート朝との関連において史劇における国王2体論の考察をし、王権神授説と暴君廃止論の相克との関連を指摘した。②アンドルー・マーヴェルとミルトンの政治的思想の違いについてマーヴェルの1660年～1673年作品の分析を行った。②17世紀後半の科学関連出版物の特徴を考証した。出版物は学術分野及び実学関連が多く、イギリス社会における自由活発な科学活動が証明された。③18世紀半ばの貧困問題と救済の過程を人口、制度、思想において分析しトマス・コーラムの施設開設の動機の解明とホスピタル設営の社会的意味について考察した。

2022 From the 16th century to the 18th century, the theme of literature and morality and the relationship between national formation and thought are analyzed. The concrete and representative of the study are the analysis of the relationship between the political prose and republican thought. The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates (1649) is an analysis of data suggesting that ideas peculiar to the 17th century and to the classical era were formed in the 17th century. As a result, despots are required to maintain the freedom of the people. The idea of national freedom and equality The common ground of the people's thoughts is the common ground of the modern understanding of the people. The next year is the final year of the study. The following points are analyzed: (1) The second half of the 16th century was the center of history and the formation of national consciousness. The national consciousness of the country is analyzed. In addition, the relationship between the two sides of the river is also discussed. (2) Analysis of the works of the political thought of the period from 1660 to 1673. (2) The characteristics of science-related publications in the second half of the 17th century. Publications are academic and academic in nature, social in nature, and scientific in nature. (3) Poverty in the 18th century and the process of its rescue: analysis of population, system and ideology; explanation of the motives for the establishment of the system; and investigation of the social implications of the system.
