研究の基盤となっているのは、以前に提案した、今川了俊自筆の書記／書写資料の用字実態比較調査から得られた用字法の解釈モデル（方法）である。本研究は、このモデルを了俊に関係する複数の冷泉派歌人に適用させるものであり、その目的は大きく3つある。（A）書記における個の問題の解明、（B）藤原定家の用字法の享受に関する問題の解明、（C）中世歌人（冷泉派）の用字意識の解明、である。目的達成に向けた作業内容を列挙すると、（A）用字法における複数の「個」を抽出し、さらにその結果（モデル）自体を検証すること、（B）複数の中世冷泉派歌人の書記／書写資料における仮名遣の一端の解明すなわち「定家の仮名遣い」という表記規範の実効性を検証すること、（C）「個」の表記意識を統合・分析すること、である。昨年度に引き続き、主として（A）にかかわる研究、一条兼良、冷泉為和関係の資料調査を進めた。兼良が著した『伊勢物語愚見抄』についての調査に関連して、近衛政家筆の同書の新出断簡の調査を行った。書写面のスタイル及び書写年次から研究上の価値が高いとされる資料である。政家筆本（断簡）は、従来の注釈書の一般的なスタイルとは異なり、物語本文（全文）と注釈とを併せ持つ。これと同じスタイルの『伊勢物語愚見抄』としては、江戸時代の書写と推定されている刈谷市中央図書館蔵本が挙げられる。本年度は、断簡の筆者である近衛政家の表記意識を探るべく、『後法興院記』の調査を中心に進めた。政家の日記である『後法興院記』には、彼が多くの文学作品を書写している記述が散見された。そこで、その記述と現存自筆資料との関係を探った。なお、当該断簡との関係は不明であるが、『伊勢物語愚見抄』を書写した旨の記述も見られた（文明17年9月13日）。冷泉為和筆の資料については、詠草に見られる仮名を中心に分類を行っているが、いまだ成果を公表できる段階に至ってはいない。
