本年度は、各経済主体が１種類の私的財を一定量初期保有しており、またその私的財に対して単峰性選好を持つ場合に、その私的財を再配分するための望ましいメカニズムの設計について研究を行った。望ましいメカニズムの条件として、（１）耐戦略性、（２）パレート効率性、（３）「初期保有の比率に関する非羨望性」の３つの公理を要求した。耐戦略性とは、各経済主体が自分の選好を正しく表明することが弱い意味での支配戦略となることをいう。パレート効率性とは、ある経済主体の状態を良くするためには、他の経済主体の状態を悪くしなければならないという意味で、私的財が無駄なく配分されていることをいう。「初期保有の比率に関する非羨望性」とは、従来の非羨望性を修正して、各経済主体の初期保有の比率を考慮するように定義した新しい非羨望性の概念である。本年度の研究では、Sprumont (1991, Econometrica) の「均一配分メカニズム」を変形した「比率に関する均一配分メカニズム」という新しいメカニズムを提案した。第一の結果として、比率に関する均一配分メカニズムは、耐戦略性、パレート効率性、初期保有の比率に関する非羨望性の３つの公理を満たす唯一のメカニズムであることを証明した。第二の結果として、比率に関する均一配分メカニズムは、交代単調性（ある経済主体の選好が変化したとき、この経済主体の配分の増減と他の経済主体の配分の増減は反対方向に変化する）という公理を満たすことを証明した。第三の結果として、比率に関する均一配分メカニズムは、個人合理性（各経済主体の配分は初期保有よりも悪くはならない）という公理を満たすことを証明した。
