本研究の最終目的は、近世都市飛騨高山の歴史人口学と家族社会学の学際的研究を行うことである。近世都市は研究開始以来注視されつつも、歴史人口学的研究の数は少ない。本研究が史料とする近世都市高山の宗門改帳は、残存期間が99年間（1773年～1871年）に及ぶ、しかも欠年が1年もない、現在発見されている史料の中では最も情報量の多い最良の史料である。この史料は、1960年代にマイクロフィルム化（全71巻：68914コマ）された（麗澤大学人口・家族史研究プロジェクト室所蔵）。マイクロフィルムは劣化の恐れがあるため、これを電子化し、紙焼き製本をおこなった。このような準備期間を経て2020年より本格的に基礎シート（BDS)作成を開始した。この作業を継続し基礎シートを完成させ、データベース化を開始することが本研究期間の目的であり、研究の最終目的はデータベース化された資料をもちいて近世都市飛騨高山の人口と家族構造の研究を完成させることである。研究2年目の2022年度は基礎シートを1803（享和3）年から1828（文政11）年まで作成し、基礎シートに書き込めない情報を整理しメモシートを作成した。また、作成した基礎シートから、1803年から1828年までの総人口、性別人口、家数を観察した。この間総人口は2800人から3000人の間で推移し、家数は530から600の間で推移するが、家数は徐々に増加している。この間の観察で強調したい点は、男女別人口についてである。これまで研究をしてきた会津山間部では、性比が男性過多であったが、高山では性比がほぼ1対1であり、女性の人口の方が多い年も見られた。この点は近世都市人口の特徴の可能性があり、今後注目しながら作業を継続したい。さらに、基礎シートの作成と並行して、主に都市の歴史人口学と飛騨地方の家族に関する文献の検索および整理をおこなった。

The ultimate goal of this study is to conduct an interdisciplinary study of demography and family sociology in the history of modern urban development. Since the beginning of modern urban studies, there have been few studies on historical demography.
