構えを見てその人の技能のレベルをスポーツの指導者は判断できなければならない。しかし、指導者でなくてもその競技の経験者であればそれは可能である。例えば、テレビでスター俳優が野球選手を演じても、その動作・構えが素人くさく、興ざめしたという経験がある人は少なくないだろう。これはたとえ指導者としての経験がなくてもそのスポーツの熟練度が判断できるということである。そこで、この判断にはどのような情報が必要かを明らかにすることを目的として、2021年度、大学生野球部員が野球の初心者である女子大学生にバッティングの構えを指導し、それがどの程度の熟練度と感じるかを野球の経験者に観察させた。その結果、たとえ指導経験がなくとも、野球の経験者は対象が経験者か否かを高い精度で判断することができることが示された。しかし、2021年度の実験では、初心者に構えの指導を行ったのが、指導経験のない現役大学野球部員だった。そこで2022年度は元プロ野球選手で、現在は社会人野球チームの指導者による初心者に対する構え指導が野球経験者の判断にどう影響するかについて検討した。2021年度の実験とは異なる初心者として女子大学生16名と野球・ソフトボール未経験の体育会部活動所属女子大学生16名に構えの指導を行い、完成した構えの32名の静止画と大学女子ソフトボール部員16名の構えの静止画を大学野球部員44名に呈示し、経験者か否かを判断させた。大学野球部員の正解率は0.1秒呈示した場合には一塁側から撮影した静止画で76.1％、1秒呈示では81.3％となった。今後は野球未経験者に同様の静止画を提示し、正解率がどのぐらいになるのかを調べ、野球経験者の判断がそれに比べて高いのかどうか検討する。さらにその判断に用いられる情報について明らかにする。
