本研究はアクションリサーチの手法を用いて、自死遺族支援グループを発展的に運営していくことを目的としている。自死遺族支援グループの変容過程を可視化し、自死遺族の心的外傷後成長についても考察をした上で、自死遺族の心的外傷後成長に寄与する自死遺族支援グループの構築を目指している。研究開始時よりCOVID-19の影響を大きく受け、自死遺族支援グループの開催ができないことがあったが、2022年度は計11回開催し、延べ65名の参加があった。COVID-19の影響は続くものの2022年度は8月のみ中止となり、その他の月は開催につなげることができた。2021年度は参加者とスタッフの力が向上し、グループの進化が認められた。2022年度はその力を維持しながら、活動を進めている状況が確認された。研究対象者となる継続的参加者の参加目的は、語ることからつどうことに変容しており、参加当初の気持ちの揺れ動きや落涙の時間は減少していた。また、新規参加者が来た際は話を傾聴して、自身の体験を語る様子が確認された。これは、参加当初は自身のことを話すことに終始していた参加者が、継続的参加を通して他者の話を聞く側に変容し、支援される側から支援する側へと意識が拡大してきていると捉えられた。これらの研究対象者の様子の変化や参加目的の変化は、自死遺族支援グループの参加を通して体得した心的外傷後成長と考えられた。本研究を通して、他者を支える視点が芽生えているが、一方で参加者がスタッフになる様子は確認できなかった。新規参加者が加わると、継続的参加者の変容も促進されており、今後の更なる変容が期待される。引き続きアクションリサーチを通して、自死遺族支援グループを発展させ、自死遺族の心的外傷後成長を促していきたい。
