项目摘要

精神障害者を対象とした自助グループ(セルフヘルプグループ,以下SHGと略す)がどのような過程を経て成立してきたかを検討し,そこに係わる専門職(ソーシャルワーカー,医師,保健婦など)の支援の内容や方法などについての研究を今年度実施した。具体的には,ある精神障害者のSHGが行った街頭募金活動を取り上げ,SHGとは定義できない精神障害者のグループ活動が実施した街頭募金活動とを比較し,そこからSHG支援の内容と方法などについて検討した。それらから次のような結果が得られた1,精神障害者自身によるSHG活動は,精神障害者の主体的な参加という側面が不可欠であるが,その活動を支える周囲の人々の存在を無視することはできない。2,だからといって,SHGの活動に対する支援と通常のグループ活動に対する援助を同一視できない。3,SHGを支える専門職たちは,援助をおこなう専門職と援助を受ける者という関係よりも,人間同士のつながりや共感という側面を重視した支援をおこなう。すなわち押しつけがましい態度をとらないところに最大の特徴がある。専門職によるSHGの支援のあり方が,SHGの活動そのものを規定してしまう可能性がある。現状では,専門職によるSHG支配になるか,SHG自身による独立した活動になっていくかは不明だが,支え手である専門職の支援内容・方法を検討・吟味し,開発していくことが今後の課題となる。
