本研究は、中国文化大革命（文革）の集合行為／集合的暴力をフレーム分析の手法を用いて明らかにすることを目的としている。文革研究はこれまで社会構造と政治プロセスに焦点を当てたものが多く、派閥抗争や暴力行為への動員・参加の意味づけのプロセスについてはあまり研究が進んでいない。本研究は、毛沢東をはじめとする指導者の著作・講話記録と紅衛兵・造反派組織の新聞を基に、社会運動論の「集合行為フレーム」（collective action frames）の分析概念・方法を用いることにより、文革の集合行為の認知的側面に焦点を当てる。研究代表者はこれまでに、文革の「マスター・フレーム」としての継続革命論が陰謀論を内包していたことが、文革の集合的暴力の一つの原因になったとの仮説を提示した（谷川真一「陰謀論としての継続革命論、そして文化大革命」、石川禎浩編『毛沢東に関する人文学的研究』京都大学人文科学研究所、2020年）。本研究は、この作業仮説をもとに、文革の認知プロセスを検証することを目的としている。2020-21年度は、主にフレーム分析の理論的・方法論的な検討と主な資料となる紅衛兵・造反派の新聞をデジタル化に向けての作業を行った。合わせて、「アンドリュー・ウォルダーと文革研究の現在」（『現代中国研究』第47号、2021年10月）の執筆やフランク・ディケーター『文化大革命ーー人民の歴史1962-1976』（人文書院、2020年）の監訳を手がけることを通じて、最新の研究動向の紹介に努めた。2022年度は、大学の業務が多忙だったことに加え、アンドリュー・ウォルダー『毛沢東時代の中国』（翻訳書、ミネルヴァ書房、近刊）の校正と『文化大革命』（中公新書）の執筆に時間を費やしたこともあり、研究期間の延長を申請し、認められた。

This study aims to analyze the collective behavior of China's Cultural Revolution. The Cultural Revolution research focuses on social structure and political development, and focuses on the study of multi-party, factional struggle, violent behavior, mobilization, participation, and other issues. This study focuses on the works, speech records, news bases of the Red Guard rebel organizations, analytical concepts and methods of collective action frames in the theory of social movements, and the cognitive bottom of collective action frames in the Cultural Revolution. Research representatives have responded to the Cultural Revolution's "conspiracy theory" and "conspiracy theory," suggesting the reasons for the Cultural Revolution's collective violence (Shinichi Tanigawa,"Conspiracy theory,""Revolution theory,""Cultural Revolution," and Sadahiro Ishikawa,"Mao Zedong's research in the humanities," Kyoto University, 2020). This study aims to investigate the relationship between cognitive function and cognitive function. 2020-21 The annual report of the Red Guards, the theoretical analysis of the Red Guards, the methodological analysis of the Red Guards, the information analysis of the Red Guards, the operational analysis of the Red Guards, and the operational analysis of the Red Guards.
