项目摘要

令和４年度は、COVID19による渡航制限の影響を受けて２年間延期していた、国外でのフィールドワークに着手した。令和３年度に再修正した、新しい研究計画にもとづき、研究データ管理支援の先進事例として知られている、米国イリノイ大学アーバナシャンペーン校の「研究データサービス部門（Research Data Service、以下RDS）」において、約２週間の訪問調査を実施した。訪問調査の目的は、研究データ管理支援を成立させる組織（組織構造と人材配置）、サービスの運用実態（役割分担と課題解決や意思決定のプロセス）、支援人材に必要な知識とスキル、以上の３点を明らかにすることである。これらを明らかにするため、①組織概要およびサービス概要についての文献調査、②サービス現場での参与観察（研究者へのコンサルテーションやワークショップ等への参加）、③スタッフ・ミーティングでの参与観察、④支援人材への個別インタビューを実施した。①の文献調査と②の参与観察の結果から、大規模総合大学において、最小のリソースで研究データ管理支援を運営するための工夫（RDSをコアに構築された全学の研究支援組織との連携・協力体制、多様な専門職区分、リエゾン・ライブラリアンとの役割分担、院生スタッフの活用等）が明らかとなった。さらに、③スタッフ・ミーティングへの参与観察、④担当者への個別インタビューの結果から、支援サービスを円滑に運用するために必要な要素（機能を重視したスタッフ配置、迅速な意思決定、柔軟な役割分担、多様な連携パスをいかした積極的なアウリーチなど）も明らかとなった。令和２年度・３年度に実施済みの、文献調査より抽出した「研究データ管理支援人材に必要な知識・スキル」の活用実態や、支援人材に必要な「姿勢や意識」等についても明らかになった。
