项目摘要

本研究は、徳島県を中心に活躍した作家である悦田喜和雄の文学活動を総合的に解明することを目的としている。具体的には、①悦田喜和雄の作品の調査・収集、②悦田喜和雄の直筆資料の調査、③悦田喜和雄の文学作品の分析という三つの作業を行う。令和4年度は、地域において文学活動に携わった悦田喜和雄という作家および彼の文学作品を研究する意義について、「悦田喜和雄と文学」（2022年10月19日、於：中央大学）と題する講演会で発表した。本講演会では、これまで調査・収集してきた悦田喜和雄に関する資料を用いながら悦田文学の全体像を把握した上で、悦田文学のモチーフや地域性について考察した。そして、専業作家でもなく中央文壇誌で活躍したわけでもない作家を取り上げることで、人生や地域の中に文学活動を取り入れることの意義について考察することができるということを分かりやすく伝えた。これからの文学研究は、著名な作家を取り上げるだけではなく、日常の中における文学創作や文学活動の役割について考え、ひろく報知していくことが必要になる。令和5年度も出張授業という形式で悦田喜和雄の文学活動について発表することが予定されている。また令和4年度は、徳島県立文学書道館に所蔵されている悦田喜和雄の佃実夫宛書簡について翻刻・注釈の作業を進めた。特に本年度は、昭和27年から昭和37年までの計79通の書簡を対象に前年度までの翻刻成果を実物に照らして確認するとともに、注釈作業を進めた。新型コロナウイルス流行の影響で現地調査ができなかった時期が続いたが、本年度は集中調査を含めて実施することができた。本成果は、徳島県立文学書道館発行の『水脈』に発表することが予定されている。また『徳島新聞』を対象に悦田喜和雄の関連記事の調査・収集を進めた。本年度は昭和22年以降の新聞を調査し、悦田喜和雄の署名記事を2本発見することができた。
