本年度は『エウデモス倫理学』および『政治学』の研究を進め、アリストテレスが観照という非政治的な活動に付与した政治的定位を詳らかにした。本研究は、第一に、『ニコマコス倫理学』第十巻の議論を参考にしながら『エウデモス倫理学』第八巻を考察することで、アリストテレスが当時の神への慣習的な態度やそれを表現する言語を用いながら、知性に奉仕することを神に奉仕することとみなしている点を明らかにした。そして第二に、『政治学』第七巻で言及される、ポリスの「固有の部分」の一つである「祭司職」に割り当てられる「神への奉仕」の内実を確定した。その際、アリストテレスがイソクラテスとプラトンと同一の議論枠組みを踏襲していたことを特定し、彼が祭司職に配分する「神への奉仕」には、供物などを含む神々への伝統的な奉仕ではなく、イソクラテスの「哲学」やプラトンの「哲学」に対応する彼独自の「観照」がその具体的内実として付与されていると理解する解釈の可能性を提示した。別言すれば、軍務や政務から解放された「老人」に祭司職を割り当てることで、そこで観照するための余暇を彼らに与えると同時に、祭司職というポリスの部分の活動として一般に受容可能なかたちで観照に政治的定位を付与することが、アリストテレス政治哲学において提示される、ポリスによる観照の取り扱い方であると結論した。
