本研究は日本国内、そして台湾現地での紙媒体資料の収集と2000年以降に関しては各政党のSNS公式アカウントも合わせて分析すること、また台湾の二大政党をはじめとした各政党関係者への聞き取りをメインとして調査分析を行うものであるが、科研開始直後の2020年度、2021年度共にCOVID-19の感染拡大の影響から一度も台湾に滞在することは叶わず研究スケジュールの変更を余儀なくされていた。しかし2022年度は9月ごろから台湾政府が短期滞在の研究者に向けた滞在許可を出したため、11月に２週間、2月に１週間ほど現地調査に行くことができた。日本国内では、5月に日本台湾学会の大会が東京で行われたため、国会図書館で資料の収集ができた。また研究者個人の活動としては、本研究に関連する公開シンポジウム「台湾事情：台湾海峡両岸関係の起源」を開催し４人の研究者をお招きし「中台関係の起源」と「台湾有事」に関する議論を行った。その他には「映画を通して見る東アジア３」（2023年3月9日、19日、25日）というイベントを企画運営し、こちらでもZOOM上での研究者同士の交流や意見交換を行うことに努めた。本研究は現在3年目が終了したところではあるが、2020年度、2021年度ともにCOVID-19の感染拡大の影響から、台湾行くことができない上に、日本国内でも感染状況が厳しい首都圏や関西への出張許可も出ず、なかなか思うような調査がおこなえていなかった。しかし、2022年の11月の台湾滞在では、現地の研究者と対面で話をする機会を多く持つことができ、長い時間古本屋などで探し続けていた絶版ですでに市場で見かけるのは困難であった李登輝言論集全巻を購入することができたのはこれからの研究を継続する上で大きな収穫となった。

This research is related to the collection of paper media data in Japan and Taiwan since 2000, and the analysis of the integration of the SNS formulas of various political parties. He was invited to the seminar on "Communication of Pictures"(March 9, 19 and 25, 2023). This study is aimed at the end of the current 3 years, the year 2020, the year 2021, the impact of COVID-19 infection, Taiwan travel, Japan's domestic infection situation, the capital region, Kansai, Japan's exit permit, and the survey. In November of 2022, Taiwan's research opportunities for local researchers to talk to each other continued for a long time, and the market was out of print. Lee Teng-hui's speech collection was fully purchased.
