项目摘要

２０２２年度は、引き続き渡航の機会がないなか、国内において主に理論面で本研究を補強する作業に注力した。具体的には、近年英語圏で台頭しているセトラー・コロニアリズム論（入植者植民地主義論）の文献をレビューした。そして、２０２２年度平和学会秋季研究集会において、「『インディオのいない国』ウルグアイにおける新しい人権課題としての先住民 ―セトラー・コロニアリズム論からの示唆―」と題して研究発表を行った（事前審査あり）。同発表では、ウルグアイを先住民という切り口で捉えることで、「インディオのいない白人の国」という支配的な国家像がゆらぐこと、そして、ウルグアイと先住民というテーマがラテンアメリカ地域研究の枠にとどまらず、北米やオセアニア、北東アジアや中東の事例との比較可能性に開かれていることを示唆した。また２０２２年度は、刊行が遅れていた一般書『ウルグアイを知るための６０章』が明石書店から出版され、同書に寄稿した複数の章のうち、「先住民」の章に本研究の成果を盛り込むことができた。ウルグアイに関する概説書は前例がなく、必ずしもアカデミアの枠にとどまらない広がりを有する商業出版のなかでウルグアイと先住民というテーマを扱い得たこと自体が本研究における「先住民の可視化」プロセスの一環であると自己評価している。爾後、学会や研究会、一般向けイベント等で同書に言及して関心を喚起し、研究成果の社会への還元に貢献しているところである。
