昨年度に引き続き喜界島の古墓に関して、2022年8月に2次調査を行った。2次調査では、赤連イトゥンバヤの古墓群2基、中間・先内の古墓群2基、大朝戸集落内の古墓1基、大朝戸の古墓1基、手久津久の久保古墓1基の計7基を調査した。2022年5月26日には日本考古学協会第88回総会研究発表において、「SfMによる奄美群島の古墓の写真測量」という題でポスター発表を行い、そのなかで喜界島の古墓の調査についても概要報告を行った。2022年8月には令和5年度に予定している与論島の古墓の本調査に向け、与論島内の古墓の踏査を行い、調査対象として選んだ保存状態のよい古墓に関してSfMによる写真測量を実施した。また与論島では近現代の洗骨・再葬用の厨子甕がよく残っている前浜墓地で、ドローン撮影を行い、厨子甕の位置図を作成した上で、339基の厨子甕の調査を行った。また前浜墓地の祭祀継承者に対して厨子甕による洗骨・再葬に関する聞き取り調査や前浜墓地で用いられている洗骨・再葬用厨子甕を生産していた那覇市壺屋の窯業従事者の聞き取り調査も合わせて実施した。2023年3月には調査報告書『喜界島の古墓』を刊行し、令和3・4年度の２ヶ年で調査した喜界島の古墓37基と、その古墓内に残されていた石厨子514基、厨子甕807点、木製厨子22点、供膳具（陶磁器）242点、供膳具（漆器）5点を報告するととともに、それらの分析結果から導き出された、喜界島の社会構造・親族組織・物流環境の特徴と変遷について考察を行った。また令和5年度の後半に予定している徳之島の古墓調査に向け、徳之島町・天城町・伊仙町の三町内にある古墓の踏査と予備調査も行った。

On May 26, 2022, the 88th General Meeting of the Archaeological Association of Japan published a summary report on the investigation of ancient tombs in Kikai Island. In August 2022, we ordered the implementation of photo survey for the investigation of ancient tombs on the island, the investigation of ancient tombs on the island, the selection of preservation status and the selection of ancient tombs on the island. The location of the kitchen urn for bone washing and reburial in modern times was investigated in the former cemetery, the kitchen urn was located in the upper part of the island, and the kitchen urn was investigated in the 339 th base. March 2023, the investigation report "Xijie Island Ancient Tombs" was published. In March 2023, the investigation of Xijie Island Ancient Tombs was carried out in February 2023. The results of the analysis were reported in the following ways: 514 stone cooks, 807 kitchen pots, 22 wooden cooks, 242 kitchen utensils (pottery ware), 5 kitchen utensils (lacquer ware). Social Structure, Family Organization, Characteristics of Logistics Environment of Xijie Island In the second half of 2005, the investigation of ancient tombs in Tokunoshima, Tokunoshima, Amagi, and Isen-cho was scheduled.
