项目摘要

今年度は以下の研究項目を実施した。１）栽培試験村において、引き続き複数の早生メイズ種およびソルガム種を用いて栽培試験を実施し、それらの地域への適地性（各品種のパフォーマンス比較）、農民の種子選好要因を把握した。またソルガムがどのように村内外へ普及してゆくか経過を追った。２）2021年度末にザンビア統計局(ZamStats)の協力で南部州の対象世帯1000世帯を対象にベースライン調査の実施を行った。この調査により世帯のより詳しい社会経済的状況に関する情報を得た。また同時に次年度に予定する介入実験の準備を行なった。介入対象農家は、今回実施したセンサスの情報を利用して各グループ間の家計特性がバランスするように選定する。介入実験で導入予定の代替作物は天候リスクに対する保険的機能を果たすことが期待されるため、引き続き自己保険的機能を持つ家計行動の現状について調査する。さらに村ごとの農業生態的条件と伝統的な自己保険との関連性を調べた。３）栄養状態を把握するために、2歳未満の乳児の低栄養を評価するスクリーニングを実施し、世帯の食料摂取については食事調査FFQを実施して調査する。微量栄養素摂取の特定を可能とする調査法の開発の準備を行なった。４）引き続き農業生産の季節性が農家の栄養状態に与える影響を分析する理論枠組を構築した。ザンビアの野外調査を通じ、構築された理論枠組の妥当性を検証し、理論枠組を改善した。５）引き続き対象地域の食料消費データから、年間食料消費の変動を栄養項目ごとに把握し、その季節性、地域性を理解する。これらの結果から、農村部住民の食料安全保障において脆弱な点（季節、地域）への対応について検討する。６）アフリカ地域の農村開発と食料・栄養問題の講師を招へいし、レジリアンスセミナー（オンライン）を今年度５回実施した。
