コロナ禍の影響を受けて、調査実施方法および質問票の内容に関する検討を続けた。とりわけ研究対象としたスリランカでは、コロナ禍に伴うロックダウンのため観光収入が激減し、農業政策の失敗もあり、デフォルトと経済危機を引き起こすことになった。そこで調査内容に新たに経済危機やコロナ禍、ロックダウンの影響などに関する質問項目を加え、そうした内容を各調査村のVillage Officerを対象とした村落調査、および2016年に調査を行った1600世帯の世帯主およびその配偶者に調査対象を広げ、質問票を完成させた。また、現地で定評のある調査機関であるKandy Consulting Groupと調査委託契約を締結した。2022年度に実施予定であった調査員トレイニングおよび本調査の実施に関しては、オンラインではあるが、二日間にわたって実施し、質問票の内容を調査員に理解させ、注意点などを解説した上で、適切な質問ができるようにトレイニングを行った。その後、2ヶ月程度の期間をかけて、タブレット端末を利用した対面調査による本調査を実施することができた。その後、データ整理を終えた最終版のデータを受け取ることができた。コロナ禍および経済危機を経験した直後であり、紛争被害を受けた人々の長期にわたる苦境を知る貴重なデータを得ることができた。
