本研究の主要な目的は2点である。一つは介護に関する政府統計のマイクロデータ（『介護サービス施設・事業所調査』、『介護給付費実態調査』など）により介護サービスの供給側の効率性に関する要因を計量経済学的視点から分析することである。今年度は厚生労働省から提供されたマイクロデータを分析可能な形に処理を行うとともに、データを用いた実証分析を行った。データの入手が当初の予定より遅れたことによりマイクロデータを用いた分析の実績としては具体的な論文等は作成されていない。しかし、各自治体ベースのデータなどを用いることにより本研究に関連する分析として、コロナ禍における家庭内の女子の就業状態の変化が介護サービスの在り方（例えば家庭内で介護するか施設を利用するか等）に対して影響を与えているかいなか計量経済学的視点から分析した。結果は、英語論文として海外ジャーナル(Health Policy)に投稿し掲載された。もう一つの研究の柱は介護現場に対する聞き取り調査であるが、介護現場に対する聞き取り調査であるため新型コロナの感染が収まるまで実施することは困難であり調査は次年度に見送られた。
