项目摘要

リスクを伝える表現方法として、統計的犠牲情報と個人的犠牲情報の２つがあるが、受け手の判断や意思決定に強く影響するのは前者であるとされる。ところが、この問題を扱う先行研究は、「統計vs事例」という構図が念頭にあり、「統計＋事例」情報の影響過程を丹念に探る研究は多くなかった。本研究課題の前年度までの成果から、個人的犠牲情報に統計的犠牲情報を付加することは受け手のリスク認知に影響するものの、その効果量はかなり小さいことが示されてきた。そこで本年度は効果量が小さいことを前提に、統計的犠牲情報付加の影響力を左右すると期待される調整変数の影響力を検討しながら、大規模なオンライン調査と無作為抽出された住民対象の郵送法調査によってこれまで得られてきた知見の頑健性、一般性を検証した。オンライン調査では、認知資源を調整変数とし、判断に時間制限を加えることでこの変数を操作した。しかしながら、この変数は調整変数としては機能せず、そもそも、個人的犠牲情報に統計的情報を加えても、リスク認知や犠牲削減の政策受容に影響がみられなかった。調整変数を熟慮傾向という個人差変数に置き換えた実験でも同様の結果であった。なお、個人的犠牲情報は統計的犠牲情報よりもリスク認知を高めるという従来の知見は確認された。郵送調査の結果も概要としては同様であった。個人的事例情報としてリスク削減策が有効であることを示すポジティブ事例条件と、有効性がないことを示すネガティブ事例条件とを設け、さらに、リスク削減策の有効性に対する統計情報をそれぞれに加えたポジティブ事例＋統計条件、ネガティブ事例＋統計条件を設けて、統計情報を付加することの効果を検証した。その結果、統計情報不可の影響力はほとんどなく、逆に、統計情報にポジティブ事例情報を加えた場合は、リスク認知が修正されることが確認された。
