项目摘要

本研究『日本のカトリック教会における聖歌の伝統 ――ドイツ語会衆歌の受容と日本語テクストにみる聖歌の意義――』は、日本のカトリック教会における聖歌集の系譜と日本語聖歌の宣教的意義を明らかにするものである。現行の公式聖歌集である『カトリック聖歌集』（1966）の大部分がドイツやフランスの聖歌の邦訳聖歌であることに注目し、その前進となった『公教會聖歌集』（1918）と『公教聖歌集』（1933）の編纂過程の検証、各聖歌の日本語とドイツ語のテクスト分析による日本語聖歌の特徴の検証、日本におけるドイツ語会衆歌の受容に関する検証を行った。編纂過程の検証には、『カトリック新聞』、雑誌『聲』、『光明: 週刊公教新聞』をはじめとする文献調査、聖歌集の出版地である北一条教会[北海道、札幌]、北十一条教会[北海道、札幌]、国内のカトリック神学院、カトリック系諸大学、関連する研究教育機関での資料調査を行った。本研究を通して、現在用いられている聖歌集の中の大部分を占め、日本において100年以上にわたって歌われ続けているにも拘わらずこれまで明らかにされてこなかった「翻訳聖歌」の来歴に関する基礎的な研究を行い、日本のカトリック教会に根付いた会衆歌の伝統、日本語聖歌が果たした宣教や信者の教化への貢献を明らかにした。

This study is aimed at clarifying the significance of Japanese hymns in church teaching and the significance of Japanese hymns. A Study of the Compilation Process of the Catholic Hymn Collection (1918) and the Catholic Hymn Collection (1933); A Study of the Characteristics of Japanese Hymns; An Analysis of the Japanese Language and Language Features of Hymns; The Japanese language community song and the acceptance of the relevant evidence Document research on the compilation process, publication of hymns, publication of hymns in Kita-Ichijo Church [Hokkaido, Sapporo], Kita-Shijo Church [Hokkaido, Sapporo], domestic theological seminary, university, and related research and education institutions. This study covers most of the hymns collected in Japan for more than 100 years. It is a basic study of the church in Japan. It is a contribution to the education of the believers.
