项目摘要

2021年度は、(1)失業要因の分解分析の手法を不均衡理論の枠組みで提示し、(2)数量制約を企業が認知したうえで生産計画を立てる動的なモデルを作り、在庫変動に関する考察を行った。さらに、(3)不均衡理論の包括的なサーベイを行い、現在の経済理論の発展への寄与に関して考察を行った。(1)では、前年度に作成した理論的な枠組みを発展させ、企業が売り上げの制約および価格体系に依存し雇用を決定することで発生する非摩擦的な失業要因と、労働市場内で企業と労働者がマッチせず雇用ができない摩擦的な失業要因に分解するモデルを作成した。これをアメリカの1990年代以降の労働市場のマクロの公開データに適用し、全体の失業率と非摩擦的・摩擦的失業率の時系列の変動の相関を調べた。この研究では、全体の失業率と非摩擦的失業率は高い正の相関を持つ一方で労働市場の摩擦による失業は全体の失業率と負の相関にあるが、この規模は非摩擦的な要因とほぼ同じで、片方を捨象せずに両者をまとめて理論的に研究する必要があることを発見した。(2)では企業が将来の売り上げ制約の期待の下で雇用・投資計画を立てる動的なモデルを作成した。在庫の存在は、直感に反し景気変動の抑制に寄与しない。このモデルでは数量制約を取り入れながらもこの事実を再現したが、一方で変動の規模が過小評価された。これは企業の異時点間の最適化行動が漸次的な調整を好むためであり、その理論的な要因を数学的手法を用いて明示化した。現在草稿を公開中であり、国際学術雑誌に投稿予定である。(3)ではこれまでの研究を踏まえて不均衡理論のモデルの包括的なサーベイを行い、均衡理論との違いを明確にするための理論的要請を念頭に置いて不均衡理論を再定義した。外的な要因による市場の失敗でなく、市場に内在する非効率性を強調したうえで、失業問題と数量制約の因果関係を簡単なモデルで表現した。
