项目摘要

紀元後９００年頃に展開するインド言語哲学の展開、その前提に踏み込んだ研究を中心に行った。５００年～８００年の諸資料を用いた研究成果を発信できた。インドにおける言語哲学の前提として宗教的権威の問題がある。仏陀の説法や全知を論題とする聖典解釈学と仏教との論争、その理論展開を、クマーリラ、マンダナ、シャーンタラクシタといった、シャーリカナータに先行する諸学匠を中心に跡付けた。研究室の雑誌、九大の紀要、東大の紀要、全国誌に個別論文を英文で公刊している。また、国際ダルマキールティ学会において発表するとともに、国際サンスクリット学会においては、海外に散らばる聖典解釈学の研究仲間とパネルを開催し、自身は、マンダナの『命令の分析』を主資料として「全知のアポリア」を取り上げた。またウィーンの研究所から出た論文集にも成果を公表できた。さらにRoutledgeのハンドブックにも成果を公表している。北海道大学では、聖典解釈学の基礎的な理論綱要書『聖典解釈学概説』の研究会を講師としてリードし、テキストと和訳（本邦未訳）を準備した。また、シャーリカナータの文意論に密接に関係する議論として、ヴェーダ学習命令が問題となる。プラバーカラ、ウンベーカ、シャーリカナータの議論を整理し、一部は写本に遡りチェックした。最終成果に繋げる準備を整えることができた。シャーリカナータの影響を受けた直後の学匠として重要であるスチャリタミシュラについては、ウィーンにおける研究会において、仏教との論争を中心に緻密に読み解く機会を持つことができた。シャーリカナータと同時代と目されるニヤーヤ学派の学匠であるジャヤンタについては、筑波大学での研究会で、これまでの研究を俯瞰する発表を行うとともに、討論術という視点から言語哲学の一展開を見直すことができた。年度内の成果は、英語論文６本の公刊、２本の国際学会発表、１本の全国学会発表である。
