『千一夜物語』フランス語版の訳者ジョゼフ＝シャルル・マルドリュスが遺した未公開の手書きノート「カルネ」4点（A，B，E，FGH）を対象とした，法定相続人の故マリオン・シェネ氏から受けた独占的使用の許諾に基づいて行ってきた翻刻とデジタル化の作業は，主にフランス語で書かれたカルネA（全178ページ：83802語），カルネB（全118ページ：51856語），カルネFGH（全29ページ：11509語），そしてアラビア語で書かれたカルネE（全42ページ：983語）について，判読が困難な箇所を除いてすべて完了し，カルネEについてはフランス語への翻訳も終えた。また，翻刻が完了したテキストの内容についての大まかな分類作業を継続して行い，テキストの日本語への翻訳を開始した。さらに「カルネ」解読の補助的資料として，研究代表者小田が撮影したマルドリュスの義妹である故マドレーヌ・シェネ氏とその娘故マリオン・シェネ氏への約3時間10分に亘るインタヴュー（2003年）の書き起こし作業を終了し翻訳を開始した。これらの翻刻・校定及び翻訳に関わる作業と並行して，①「カルネ」全体の大まかな構成，②幾つかの記述内容の典拠，③従来から疑問視され未だに結論が出ていないマルドリュスのアラビア語能力の解明，④マルドリュスと交流があった当時の著名な文学者たちについて書かれた箇所から読み取れる《ベル・エポック》の文学風土の新たな一面，⑤日本に関する記述の抽出と翻訳，の5点について分析を行い，論考をまとめて『筑波大学フランス語・フランス文学論集』に投稿し査読を経て採択された。当該論考は，翻刻作業を行ったフランス国立社会科学高等研究院の大学院生セリア・シュルファ氏とリヨン第2大学中世キリスト教・イスラーム世界歴史，考古学，文学大学共同利用センターの研究員ラハセン・ダーイフ氏との国際共著論文である。

The submission is examined. When this paper is examined, the research work of the National Advanced Institute of Social Sciences is carried out. The research paper of the Second University is jointly used by the researchers of the World History, Archaeology and Literature University.
